Katherine's longest training run was 5 hours, proving quality is more important than quantity in building strength endurance. Katherine's early season training was focused on building great leg strength and aerobic efficiency. This conditioning was then applied to faster than race specific, moderately long runs, helping to make race day endurance feel easier AND without muscle breakdown so inherent in long endurance events. Mission accomplished, as katherine joked, "man was the last 25 miles hard!" That was our goal, 75 mile warm-up and a 25 mile race - - Congrats Katherine!
